Back when I started using Photodeck, one of the features I immediately missed compared to other websites was a Lightroom publishing plugin. I use Lightroom exclusively to manage my photos, and have used other publishing plugins to manage photos that go online. What makes a Lightroom publishing plugin great is not just the ease of publishing directly out of Lightroom, but managing what images are where, and easily pushing updates out when I tweak my images. My husband Will very kindly took this on as a personal coding project challenge, and much time, swearing, and hard thinking later, I had my very own Lightroom publish plugin for Photodeck!
As always, there were a few bugs and feature requests from the user base (me), but it was pretty shiny even from day one. However, now it's not just mine, as Will made the code open source, and the Photodeck team got on board and made numerous improvements. It's still beta, but if you want to give it a try, it's available here. If you're not currently a Photodeck member but would like to be, you can get 50% off your first month with the code YG@UXAANA.
Below is one of Will's favourite sunsets, taken on an anniversary trip to the Bunya Mountains in Queensland. I can't thank him enough for him writing the plugin for me, and I'm so proud that it's been supported by the Photodeck team and is now out in the wild. I hope every Lightroom-addicted Photodeck photographer finds it as useful as I have.
