We get some amazing sunsets here in Brisbane, however where I live the view is blocked by rooftops and power lines. There's a few local places I've had in my mind to try out, and yesterday I cycled to nearby Clontarf to try out one of them.
Sadly for the most part nature wasn't playing ball, with low cloud hiding the colours I could see glimpses of through small gaps in the clouds. Just as the sun dropped below the horizon however, the scene before me lit up with this glorious rich orange and pink glow. I had a big stopper filter on, which I used to grab this long exposure which soaked up the colours. Moments later it was grey again, and having spent enough time being a buffet for mozzies, I headed home (well, more accurately I headed to my grandfather's place for dinner, after much confusion with my husband over our agreed pick-up location where I learnt I wasn't at Woody Point after all, but all that sounds a lot less poetic).
