When my old school chum Jenny Wong of See. Taste. Do offered me one of her hand-poured soy candles, I didn't think twice. I adore scented candles, and of the countless numbers I've tried over the years, soy candles are easily the best. They glow beautifully but more importantly, they hold scent really well. I've been able to smell a good soy candle the minute I walk into the room, before even lighting it. Jenny's gorgeous creation is no different. Inspired by her, I thought it would be fun to capture the beauty of the candle.
Now, I live in Brisbane, and it's fair to say the number of candles I light has shrunk significantly since my time in London. When the candle arrived in late December it was a beautiful-one-day-perfect-the-next sweltering 30+ degrees. But then we had one of those sunsets where the very air glows orangey-pink. So I thought I'd try to capture that pink-orange air in the cute pearl on candle.
That was back in December, and it's only been this week that it's been cool enough to light a candle at night. So below is the photo from December and a lit candle one from this week. Isn't it gorgeous? White Wave has to be the most elegant candle I've ever lit. If only I could photograph the scent! It smells of a breezy summer's day by the sea (oh, it smells like this!).
